1918 LETTER #10:
LETTER SUMMARY:
Harold writes this letter to his younger brother "Nug" who is training for the Coast Artillery in Virginia:
-- Get your teeth fixed (in the USA), "they go to hell" over here

Dear Nug,
"Don't forget to have your teeth all fixed up AT ONCE. You don't stand a chance of getting them fixed over here and they go to hell awful quick. You will probably leave for over here before you know it so be sure and tend to it.
You fellows will be Railroad Artillery or Field Artillery over here, light and heavy. Its good stuff (especially during a barrage?). My God what a noise. You'd think you was at the end of the world. They are sending

You'll probably be on your way over when we come out again. Our ten day leave has been indefinitely postponed. Am waiting now for R. Hyatt to come over and see me. He's just out after his hitch in the ditch.
Whatever you do Nug STAY OFF THE WOMAN. It means a dishonorable if anything happens and that means one's finish.
Over here a man might just as well get an "A Wall". Don't take this matter too lightly for it means the ruining of a career if you slip up. Norfolk must be some place since the War started.
