2 OLD WWII PHOTOS OF ALLIED OCCUPIED BERLIN
TWO old photos, taken in OCCUPIED GERMANY soon after the end of World War II. Each measures about 7 x 9 ½"" and has two holes along one edge where they were originally bound together. On the back of each photo is stamped or printed: “Copyright by Badekow Belegexemplar und Honorar an Atelier Badekow Charlottenburg, Mommsenstr. 21 Tel.” C2 Charlottenburg 0894"".
One has writing in pencil on the back “BIG PARADE ON THE AXIS” and shows US troops marching in front of parked vehicles, officers in review, etc.
The second photo is unidentified but I’ve been told that it may perhaps be a picture of the US HQs complex on what was renamed Clayallee Strasse after Gen. Lucius Clay. The US Embassy was in the rear of this complex, and in the photo there are Military Police standing out in front. This photo has a badly bent lower right corner (see scan). Otherwise, the two photos are in good condition though they have some curl.
