TWO OLD PHOTOS OF WOMEN WORKING IN FACTORY c1900
INTERESTING interior and exterior photographs of a factory & workforce c1900-15. Iím not quite sure exactly what sort of factory these old 9 x 11" cardboard mounted photographs document, but it looks like reasonably hard labor in quite poor working conditions. Perhaps it is a food processing or canning factory as there appears to be different types of fruits and vegetables in the kettles? and boxes on the floor. The photo was definitely taken to record this workplace and the workers--many of whom are women of various ages. Neither photo bears any markings or ID but they were found in upper NY state. The interior photo shows the women sitting working at long tables with several men standing--probably in a supervisory role. The exterior photo shows the entire workforce in front of the factory loading dock, women lined up in front of the men. A man at left poses with his bicycle. One womanís portrait is circled in ink.

Both photos are somewhat spotted and lacking in contrast (see scan). The cardboard mounts also show wear, especially around the edges, otherwise good condition.
